Hi, I'm Kaylie b. poplin!
This is the place that I love to share recent camping trips with my family, thoughts on preserving our stories through portrait preservation and of course, family photoshoots on our renowned 30A beaches.

With so much extra time at home the past few months, I started documenting more of our normal day to days on black and white film. There is something about black and white film that takes an ordinary scenario and makes it seem timeless, thought out or more appealing than color at times. It cuts back the chaos from the surroundings and brings your focus to what matters most in the photo. It is one of my favorite ways to photograph families on the beach or at home as a Destin beach photographer.

These are just a few of our family around the house and at the beach in Destin, Florida over the past few months. And I still have quite a few rolls to send off to be developed!

I think this has begun a personal project for me. For so many years I have shot client work mainly as a Destin beach photographer, and maybe personal when I had a chance. During most of the year, those chances are few and far between. This time away from the hustle has completely reversed that for me. Personal work needs to come first – then client. The only way you will grow in YOUR vision – in YOUR style – is if you shoot like you would shoot if no one were to ever see the photographs.
