When Laura and I first spoke, she said that she followed me on Instagram back in the day and knew that one day when she was in 30A she wanted us to be her Seaside photographers! Years have passed and this year was the year!! I was so humbled when she told me that she waited all these years (even with no longer having Instagram) just for us to do portraits together!! After meeting her I totally understand why because we were cut from the same cloth!! She has a love for all things authentic and making the everyday moments artistic. I would definitely describe the family portraits she chose as just that – everyday, simple moments with a flare of magic.
We met at the beach house they were staying at in Seaside. She told me that we that there were hammocks outside that she had iPhone pics of of her son and mother from the year prior. These ended up being some of our favorites. They were beautiful but they also had meaning, history and memories already attached. Incorporating meaning like this into family pictures is one of our favorite things to do as Seaside photographers.
Nathan and Laura are truly some of the most down to earth people. They are so natural together – which comes from a foundation of true enjoyment in each other’s company! It was incredible to watch.
