Last year I photographed the Boyce Family at their Alys Beach house, but we only had one grand baby at that time! (But how precious is she!?) This year we had four!! This is one of my favorite parts about being an Alys Beach photographer – you get to watch families grow!
What are the chances that all three sisters would be pregnant at the same time?! Well, probably not likely but these sisters did!! This year I got to finally meet the three newest babies that we had only talked about last year. It was so neat to watch these grandparents beam with pride during their family photos! You could tell that this trip to Alys Beach – a place they all love so much and vacation to year after year – was such a special trip with all the new additions! As anyone knows with small babies – it isn’t always the easiest to vacation, but man – I can’t get over just how grateful I know they all were to have all of them together this year.
When Margaret (who owns J. Lowery which makes gorgeous purses!) first contacted me to be her Alys Beach photographer a year ago, she told me that one of the reasons they wanted to do family pictures was because they were focusing on the things in life that are most important – and this group of people in this beautiful place was something they wanted to be able to look back on – especially as their parents age. They will always remember their annual vacations as a family to Alys Beach so they wanted portraits to be able to look back on.
We started off in the session at the Alys Beach Firepit Park right near the house they were staying at. It ended up being the perfect spot because the babies needed to eat while the dad’s kicked their feet up around the pit.
We then headed towards the beach for sunset! We had the most gorgeous, orange sunset this night! It couldn’t have been a better ending to our time together!
