There is so much history in the Destin/30A area – especially Grayton Beach Fl. There are few that know it better than the Trautmann family! It was such an honor to meet and photograph them in Grayton Beach Fl recently.
The Trautmann’s have been coming to the Panhandle of Florida for over fifty years!! As we were walking down to the beach in Grayton, they were telling me how the area once looked and memories they have made together here for over five decades!
This year, they brought along the newest generation on their family trip – and I must say – she was probably the biggest highlight for them yet!
When Hadley and I first began talking about what we wanted to do for their family photos, she mentioned to me that her mom (seen here!) has a photo of her still hanging of when she was a little girl in Destin, Florida in a heirloom dress with the sea oats around her. I immediately said we had to redo that but now with Hadley’s daughter.
It was perfection!! These are the type of portraits that hold significant meaning and last for generations.
We then went to the second half of our time together where we all played along the shoreline. The little giggles that were had when she was riding on her grandfather’s shoulders were too much.
This is why I love being a photographer in Grayton Beach Fl. The history in this little community are incredible. It was such a highlight for me to hear some of this history from a family that has loved the area for such a long time.
