Kate was my first childhood best friend! We go way back as you can see. We were both born in Texas, both moved to a small town in Georgia where our parents met, both nicknamed “bug”, both played baseball on the same team that our dads coached on, both went to the same school, both made our parents wonder if we would ever grow out of the tomboy stage… and the list goes on! Ha! It was such a full circle moment when she reached out years later after we hadn’t been in touch and asked if we would be her photographers on 30A for her family session!
I freaked out! It has been years since we have seen each other and let me tell you, nothing had changed! Those are the best time of friendships – no matter how much time has gone by you pick right back up where you left off. Now she is married and her brother and his wife had their first child. Man, time flies!
I had such a great time walking around with them around Watercolor, Florida, catching up and photographing them along the way! They are such a special family! The role they played in my life for many seasons is one that I still recall from time to time.
Being photographers in 30A connect you to so many new people, but it also brings you back to the people who have been apart of your life since the beginning.
