Family Photo Outfits For The Beach

Let me start off by saying something I always say – the best family photo outfits you can wear for family pictures are the ones that you already have. Gasp! But it’s true! Chances are if it is in your closet already it is something that you wear on a normal basis that is comfortable and you feel good in! That is the key to great family photos – comfort and confidence. We could close this blog post right here. JK. 😉

After photographing hundreds of families, I want to share with you my professional opinion on the best family photo outfits as well as links to some cute outfits for mama + child.

Before we begin, let me introduce to you India Hicks. She has been one of my greatest inspirations since day one. She has such an effortless, chic aesthetic. Lastly – I don’t think there is anything that looks better in family photos than plain jeans/jean shorts, a flowy tee and barefoot. Or swimsuits. With a cute, linen pareo. With a hammock. Or at the beach. With a striped towel. Or babies on a skateboard. With messy hair. Or at your oyster boil on the dock.

Oh stripes, is there anything more perfect? This swim is best for … oh, EVERYTHING.

Accessories at the beach are your biggest win! SERIOUSLY. It helps take the pressure off and gives you the best candid photos. Think bikes, skates, skateboard, swing, net etc.
